About

Chuiyuan Meng received his Ph.D. in music technology from IU Indianapolis. His areas of expertise are online and hybrid music performances, rich internet application, and multimedia application for music education. Dr. Meng has been involved in several global music events, including SEAMUS, International Computer Music Conference, and the Earth Day Art Model series.

Dr. Meng is a classical pianist by training, a full-stack developer, and a user experience designer. He has over 20 years of software development and teaching experience. He received his Bachelor of Music from the College of Music at Capital Normal University, Beijing, his Master of Science and Ph.D. in Music Technology from IU Indianapolis. Aiming to revolutionize online music conferences and concerts, Meng and colleague Scott Deal designed and developed the Deck 10 Intermedia software platform that has been successfully used in various online music events hosted by the university, the New England Conservatory, the International Conductors Guild, and the International Computer Music Association. As a co-founder of Deck 10 Media, Meng is continuing with the research and development to better support Network Music Performance and other online music events with a focus on social presence and user experience.
