Share your love for Herron

Herron is always looking for energized students interested in admissions outreach and/or social media engagement to join one of the school's two leadership programs. If you want to be a Herron Ambassador or Herron Originator, start here.

Become a Herron Ambassador

Looking to make a difference in the lives of future students? Participate in the Herron Ambassador program, which is run by the Office of Admissions and Student Services, to help the school's recruitment efforts.

Herron Ambassadors are a select group of current students who represent the school at admissions events, orientation, and other school functions. They positively promote the school, interact with the Herron and IU Indianapolis community, and engage with prospective students.

To become a Herron Ambassador, you must be willing to provide a student perspective on life at Herron and meet the following criteria:

  • Be a full-time student at Herron (at least 12 credit hours per semester).
  • Maintain a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0.
  • Be open to interacting with a wide range of people.
  • Be reliable—arrive on time and be prepared.
  • Volunteer at least 10 hours per semester.

Participation in the Herron Ambassador program will help you in the following ways:

  • Completing volunteer hours, which are often required for IU Indianapolis scholarships.
  • Adding volunteer experience to your résumé/CV/LinkedIn profile.
  • Developing valuable leadership skills.
  • Giving back to classmates as well as students transitioning from high school to college.
  • Building relationships with Herron faculty and staff, as well as in the IU Indianapolis community.

Fun fact: Herron Ambassadors have been named to IU Indianapolis’s Top 100, a program that recognizes students who make a difference on campus, as well as the prestigious Plater Medallion, which is awarded to graduating students for their commitment to community through volunteerism and civic engagement.
