Herron’s Certificate in Architectural and Interior Design Graphics gives students a glimpse into the industry’s best practices while teaching students how to use the newest industry-standard space design software as members of a design team.
Earn a Certificate in Architectural and Interior Design Graphics
At a glance
- The 15-credit hour undergraduate certificate in architectural and interior design graphics is an in-person program offered by Herron School of Art and Design.
- Applicants must be currently enrolled in an IU undergraduate program.
- No prior design experience is required.
- Introduction to Interior Design course (3 credits) must be taken in the first semester of classes during the certificate. The other four courses can be taken in the order that works best for your schedule.
Declaring the certificate
Before enrolling in any courses, students interested in pursuing this certificate must submit an online application stating their intent.
Requirements
Semester one
- Introduction to Interior Design (3 credits) (must be taken prior or concurrent with the other interior design courses)
- Introduction to Construction Drafting and AutoCAD (3 credits)
Semester two
- Introduction to Construction Drafting with BIM (3 credits)
- Commercial Design II (3 credits)
Drawing requirement
- HER-E101 Beginning Drawing I (3 credits)
- Or HER-D101 Drawing I (3 credits)
