Completing this 33-credit hour certificate in addition to your bachelor's degree prepares you to apply for graduate programs in art therapy in pursuit of a career as an art therapist. It does not give you a credential that can be used to secure a job. Rather, this certificate provides foundational knowledge that will prepare you for a professional practice in art therapy. The courses you must complete for this certificate have traditionally been used as prerequisites for admission to many graduate programs in art therapy.
The Art Therapy Credentials Board (ATCB) requires a master's degree and post-graduate clinical experience for registered art therapists.
