Joani Rothenberg is a dedicated artist and art therapist specializing in community art projects that foster a sense of belonging and connection among participants. With a rich portfolio of projects spanning the United States and Israel, she has collaborated with religious institutions, healthcare organizations, girl scouts, and community centers to engage the public in artistic endeavors that inspire a feeling of being part of something greater than oneself.
Joani's passion for art therapy extends to her work at an outpatient oncology art therapy studio, where she supports patients and faculty on their healing journeys. Through the power of art, she empowers individuals affected by cancer to express their emotions, find strength, and embrace their creativity as a means of self-discovery and healing.
In addition to her community art projects, Joani recognizes the significance of working with medical professionals who have experienced burnout due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. She utilizes art therapy as a therapeutic modality to provide these professionals with a creative outlet for processing their emotions, alleviating stress, and rejuvenating their spirits. By engaging in art-making, they can find solace, reconnect with their innate creativity, and reignite their passion for their vital work.
Joani Rothenberg's dedication to using art to empower individuals, build communities, and support healthcare professionals underscores her commitment to holistic well-being. Through her expertise as an artist and art therapist, she creates transformative spaces where art becomes a catalyst for personal growth, community connection, and healing in the face of adversity.
