Al-Mutanabbi Street Starts Here

A car bomb exploded in 2007 in the historic intellectual center of Baghdad, al-Mutanabbi Street. More than 130 people died or were wounded, but the place escaped geographic bounds to become a global movement for the free exchange of ideas. The exhibition included a rare collection of artist's books and broadsides that continue to be generated as an outpouring of solidarity with the people of Iraq.

Mining the Subjunctive: Exploration in Drawing and Pattern Play II

Creighton Michael’s works comprise a drawing-centric exploration of material composition, physical articulation or processes related to systems of musical notation, shorthand, calligraphy or digital cryptography. The two-part exhibition included a site-specific installation produced in collaboration with Herron students and faculty member Sarah Jones.

Making Indiana: A Celebration of Herron Alumni

A signature project of the Indiana Bicentennial Commission, Making Indiana: A Celebration of Herron Alumni filled five galleries in Eskenazi Hall and featured works by alumni from the 1930s forward, along with historical tidbits from Herron’s 114 years. These alumni are distinguished by their notable accomplishments and longevity as working artists, designers, or art educators.
