Frequently asked questions

Learn more about National Portfolio Day by exploring answers to the most commonly asked questions below.

National Portfolio Day events provide students with the opportunity to meet with representatives from over 20 schools and colleges across the nation. Representatives will review portfolios, offer critiques, and share information about their schools. All participating schools are accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design.

Bring finished pieces, works in progress, and sketchbooks. Bring original artwork whenever possible, but don't worry about matting or framing your work. If you have digital work, bring your laptop or tablet with a self-contained power source as a backup.

National Portfolio Day events are free and open to prospective students and their families. You don't need to register to attend. However, if you choose to RSVP, you'll receive email reminders and correspondence about National Portfolio Day.

Herron representatives will review portfolios at other National Portfolio Day events throughout the Midwest. Check our visit pages periodically for upcoming admissions events.
