Transfer to Herron from another IU school

Current IU students interested in transferring to Herron from another school including University College must complete the Herron application for current IU students. Before you apply, please review our areas of study and meet with a Herron academic advisor to learn which of your credits will transfer.

Students applying to Herron's Bachelor of Science programs must also apply to audition. Learn more about the audition process on our audition guidelines page.

How to schedule an appointment with a Herron advisor

Once you're in the Student Appointment Scheduler (SAS) portal, click on "Schedule an appointment" and follow these steps:

  • Click the "Schedule with someone else" link.
  • Select the Indianapolis campus from the drop-down list.
  • Enter "Herron School of Art and Design" under "Search name, school, department or focus area."
  • Select Pamela Hacker and/or Julie Wynn and click "Find available appointments."
  • Book an in-person or online appointment.
  • Confirm your cell number for text message reminders.

Transfer requirements for current IU students

To transfer to Herron from another IU school, you must:

  • Be currently enrolled at IU.
  • Have completed a minimum of 12 IU credit hours that apply toward a Herron degree.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.

Application fees for current IU students

  • SlideRoom fee: $5 (non-refundable; cannot be waived)

Application deadlines for current IU students

  • For fall semester: May 1
  • For spring semester: November 1
  • For summer session I: March 15
  • For summer session II: May 1
