Seeing the world through an artistic lens

I want to emphasize how importance it is for everyone to be creative, and that creativity can thrive in individualized interests. I will teach a variety of artistic approaches, such as bookmaking, painting, drawing, fiber arts, and sculpting from found objects, and will encourage students to read articles and learning art history in order to improve the lessons as needed.

Getting to know students and communicating with them on a personal level will help to foster a positive classroom culture in which students feel valued for their contributions and efforts. They will be able to ask questions and discuss their observations in a collaborative environment. And they will feel more connected to the world if they respond to and reflect on it through the visual arts.
